My husband shoved my nine-month-pregnant body off an icy cliff, believing a $50 million life

After surviving Preston’s attempt on her life, the narrator regains strength in the hospital, welcomes her son Alexander, and confronts Preston with Richard’s help and overwhelming evidence. Preston is taken away by authorities, and the narrator looks ahead to a new chapter focused on healing, safety, and justice.

The smile on my face was a mixture of triumph and determination. I was alive, and so was my baby. Preston’s plan had failed, and he had no idea. With Richard by my side, I felt a strength I hadn’t known before.

The days in the hospital were long, but they were filled with purpose. I had a new life to protect and a new alliance with my biological father. Richard was a man of power and influence, and he was determined to see justice served.

While I rested, Richard made arrangements. He met with the best lawyers and investigators, uncovering every deceitful action Preston had taken. Each revelation made the betrayal cut deeper, but it also fueled my resolve. I would not let Preston get away with this.

One morning, as sunlight streamed through the hospital room window, Richard brought me a small envelope. Inside was a photograph of a beautiful nursery, freshly painted and filled with everything my baby would need. “When you’re ready,” Richard said, “I’ll make sure you and your son have a safe place to come home to.”

Tears filled my eyes at his kindness. For the first time in years, I felt hope. My son would grow up knowing love and safety, not the treachery that had surrounded his conception.

As the weeks passed, my body healed. My son was born, healthy and strong, filling my heart with a joy I hadn’t imagined possible. I named him Alexander, after my mother, whose courage had given me the chance to fight back.

The day came when I was strong enough to face Preston. The lawyers had gathered enough evidence, and it was time for the truth to come out. With Richard’s support, I planned a meeting at his office, inviting Preston under the guise of discussing the insurance claim.

When Preston walked in, his smug expression turned to shock when he saw me sitting there, alive and very much not the ghost he expected. His eyes darted around the room, looking for an escape, but there was none.

“Hello, Preston,” I said, my voice steady. “Did you miss me?”

He stammered, trying to find words, but I held up a hand to stop him. “There’s nothing you can say that will change what’s coming. You tried to kill me and our son for money. But we survived, and now it’s your turn to face the consequences.”

Richard laid out the evidence, piece by piece, while Preston’s face grew pale. The walls were closing in on him, and it was clear he had no way out.

By the end of the meeting, Preston was led away by authorities, his future uncertain but certainly grim. I felt a sense of closure as the door closed behind him. Justice, it seemed, was finally being served.

As I left Richard’s office, Alexander in my arms, I felt a new chapter beginning. It wouldn’t be easy, but with Richard’s support and the love I had for my son, I knew we could face whatever came next.
